Anthony Annett is an economist who was employed at the International Monetary Fund when the global financial crisis struck in 2007. His dissatisfaction with the then (and still) reigning economic system led him to search for a better ethical basis for our shared economic life. He found it in the social doctrines of the Catholic Church. Hear Annett speak on “Cathonomics: Toward a More Inclusive, Sustainable World Economy” online on Wednesday, December 11, at 7pm. He will walk his listeners through the principles of Catholic Social Teaching outlined in his book Cathonomics and show how these are aligned with social democracy. Annett is a Climate Change and Sustainable Development Advisor at the Earth Institute, Columbia University. The event is sponsored by the Association of Pittsburgh Priests. Register HERE.
