The Season of Creation is an ecumenical Christian celebration of prayer and action for our common home. It begins on September 1 and concludes on October 4, the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. We will mark the beginning of the observance with two showings of the documentary film “The Letter.” It tells the story of Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si’ (On Care for Our Common Home), and includes voices of people around the world affected by the climate crisis: Ridhima, a teenage youth activist from India; Cacique Dada, an indigenous leader from the Amazon; Arouna, a climate refugee from Senegal; and Robin and Greg, two scientists from Hawaii. Join us on Thursday, August 31, from 7 to 9 pm in the Saint Scholastica Parish Hall. No registration necessary.
